EMDR Training
Dr Button is an EMDR Europe Accredited Trainer and Consultant delivering EMDR Europe Accredited EMDR training. Only training courses and trainers accredited by EMDR Europe are recognised to deliver accredited standard training in EMDR therapy within Europe. There are many companies advertising that they provide EMDR training who have not gone through the rigorous accreditation process. Please be aware that you will be unable to work towards becoming an EMDR Europe Accredited Practitioner unless you have attended EMDR Europe Accredited Training.
You can have confidence that Dr Button and the Facilitators have demonstrated the required competencies as outlined by EMDR Europe, and that the training is of the highest standard.
To ensure that all delegates receive adequate attention, Dr Button ensures a ratio of maximum 12 delegates to 1 trainer / facilitator.
Dr Button’s EMDR training programme consists of 7 days divided into 3 parts: Part 1 (3 days), Part 2 (1 day) and Part 3 (3 days).
To ensure that delegates have the best opportunity to develop their skills in the application of EMDR the interactive and experiential training includes:
- Teaching
- Live demonstrations
- Group clinical supervision of case material
- Small group work to develop skills in various phases of the protocol
- Videos of clinical cases
- Time to practice providing EMDR as a therapist
- The opportunity to experience EMDR as a client working on real-life issues
Where do our training courses take place?
In-person trainings currently take place in Torbay, a stunning part of the English Riviera in the Southwest of England. Known for its beautiful coastline, mild climate, and picturesque towns, Torbay offers an idyllic setting for professional development. With its golden beaches, charming harbours, and a range of local attractions, the area provides a relaxing and inspiring environment to complement your EMDR training experience. Our online courses provide the same high-quality course content and interactive, experiential learning methods as the in-person trainings. Whether you join us in beautiful Torbay or from the comfort of your own space, you’ll gain the skills and confidence to integrate EMDR effectively into your practice.
EMDR Refresher days
EMDR Refresher days are 1 day in length. They are hosted either online on Zoom or in-person in the Southwest of England. All refresher days are provided by Dr Button with the support of experienced Consultants / Facilitators. Certificates and relevant materials will be provided.
Refresher days include:
- A recap of administration of the eight-phased standard EMDR protocol
- Video footage of clinical material including blocked processing
- Group discussions
- Q&A sessions addressing common difficulties encountered
